The ocean and sky, and salt water marshes in South Florida and Cape Henlopen, Delaware constantly amaze me. Changing light conditions, transparency & color of the water and atmospheric variation are the themes of a new series of pastel drawings.
I am a gay artist and art educator of 38 years, retired in 2005. I am currently producing artwork in several areas.
1) Pastel drawings of ocean, sky", beach, and marsh
2) Photography of the same,
3) Digital montages with a gay male theme, and
4) A blog titled Isaac Stolzfuts’ Journal.
In the past I have also worked in oils and graphite producing over-sized artwork of cultural icons in a hyper-real style.
I have a partner of 40 years. In the summer of 2005 we sold our house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Juno Beach, Florida with the intention of spending half of the year in each location. In January 2008 we homsteaded in Florida in an effort to slow our exploding Palm Beach County taxes. As an artist the ocean, sky, saltwater marshes, and the light at both beach resorts has inspired me to create a new body of work.
